This is the Columbia, South Carolina
chapter of PFLAG
Currently on hold
Columbia PFLAG is currently undergoing a reorganization. However, we care about you and your needs. We have people to help. If you would like to speak with someone, please send us an email and someone will get back to you.
We can call you, meet you in person or over Zoom.
In the meantime, we have many resources on our page for you. Still we are here to listen.
We are also interested in finding individuals who are interested in taking on leadership roles within the group. We are seeking a president and a treasurer.
WHAT IS PFLAG?
Today my daughter called to tell me some wonderful news. She’s engaged! I listened rapt as she shared all the details: dinner at a quaint Italian restaurant, a walk on the beach, the proposal at sunset against the backdrop of a color-splattered sky. She responded with a delighted yes.
PFLAG Columbia's President Mary Drew also witnessed the beautiful wedding of her daughter Emily and her partner.
Julian, is the son of a PFLAG member. Like a lot of the LGBT community, he struggled to reconcile his sexual orientation with the teachings of many churches. He had faith in his own church and made the very brave decision to come out to his church. Read his beautiful letter here.
Before I first attended Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, I lost all faith in religion, the church, and God. I would simply “go through the motions,” attending church and participating in worship. It wasn’t
until I came home for winter break from graduate school that I decided to attend this church with my parents a couple of times.
